Description:
“Bobaa” emerges not from emotional impulse but from formal curiosity,a rare venture into the male psyche(my subjects are mostly( females,felines ,avians, flowers, temples).
The figure, with his thinning hair and blank stare, feels instantly familiar: a 1930s banker, shop clerk, or sales agent, rendered in that brittle confidence unique to men of his era. His vest screams routine; his tie chokes the individuality right out of him.

He wore silence like starch.
Vest pressed flat,
eyes fixed like clock hands
at half past indifference.

A banker? Maybe.
Shop clerk?
Doesn’t matter,
he sold time either way.

The kind of man
whose name you’d forget
but whose stare
followed you out the door.

Bald spots like thumbprints
of some God long bored.
A line for a mouth,
because words were wasteful.

He didn’t want to be drawn.
But he showed up anyway,
in charcoal,
then in color,
then in regret.

I didn’t paint “Bobaa” to know him.
I painted him
because he’d been
watching me first.
