The hillside tilts under the weight of waiting,
each shingle holding its breath like a memory postponed.

You did not knock, but the silence answered.
Shadows long to be seen,
not touched.

A single lamppost hums in Morse,
translating the hush into half-forgotten names.
Dreams here walk upright,
wearing coats from other lives.

The moon,unreasonably large,pauses mid sentence.
Your footsteps don’t echo;
the road refuses to remember your tread.

Paint peels like unspoken truths.
Curtains drift, stirred by ghosts
too polite to speak.

And you,
stitched into the frame like a brushstroke withheld,
stand somewhere between dusk and detail,
where even Hopper might hesitate,
not from doubt, but awe.

This is not nostalgia.
It is architecture grieving
what it once held.
